Bringing bright minds and beautiful souls together, share experience on the water and collectively compete in social sporting activity....
Welcome to Coxside Gig Club, this, our online space to share our story, goings on and future plans. We are a community led competitive club who love the social side of Cornish pilot gig rowing. Just on the border, we feel at home in origin whilst at one with those attracted to the region and this heritage sport.

Having rowed in varying capacity since childhood, Alex has in recent years spent time with local clubs focusing his attention to Cornish Pilot Gigs - leading to the founding movement of Coxside Gig Club. 'It is my ambition to provide a club for all, with a competitive focus for those who wish to explore it!'

Kayleigh started with a 'learn to row course' back in 2018. Having spent time with a few local clubs since, Kayleigh has regained a joyful love for rowing with Coxside Gig Club, proving to be a valuable asset to our organisation. 'I am keen to help this club develop and excited to see how far it can go competitively!'

The youngest member of our crew to date but holstered is a broad spectrum of knowledge and a wealth of experience she is keen to share in and out of the boat.

Jeremy, owner of 'Evolution Marine' started his rowing journey in tandem with the launch of Coxside Gig Club! After taking to it quickly and fast developing confidence in the boat, Jeremey can and always does turn his hand to anything - a valued member and integral resource for our club.

Dangerously close to retirement, we are molding Ian into the perfect club bosun since his introduction to rowing at the start of this year - a hobby in the making for all that free time he will have on his hands ;-)

Sometimes the boat just needs a lift, and there's Nicki just when you need her - a friendly smile, great sense of humor and again has rekindled a love for this sport with us here at Coxside! Nicki started rowing with
Kayleigh back in 2018 and has enjoyed time spent on the water with her daughter, Lowenna!
Nicki can be found most weeks on the 'face of the week' insta posts!
